The way we operate
To prevent the misappropriation of funds, all the money for the support of a child, is paid directly to the educational establishments.
Nepal
The way we operate in Nepal differs from the way we operate in Bangladesh. In Nepal our contact person, Dinesh Silwal, identifies children that meet the aims of our charity. A meeting is setup with the parents and child. The child will be expected to attend school daily and apply itself diligently its studies. The parents are encouraged to create the conditions ideal for the child to attend school.
The progress of the child is mentioned regularly by both the school and the WSF contact person. Support may be withdrawn if the agreed conditions are not met. In this way we hope to encourage the child to reach it's full potential.
Bangladesh
In Bangladesh we sponsor children in the mission of Haluaghat. The children in this mission are of the Garo tribes in the north of Bangladesh. These tribes are among the poorest in Bangladesh.
Some families have sold their land and most other possessions to enable their children t study. However in most cases this money is not sufficient to sustain educational beyond the primary stage. Children are forced to leave school. The cycle of poverty continuous. The WSF aims to break this cycle.
The children in Haluaghat live at the mission post and attend school there. Full boarding and lodging is ensured by the support of the World Study Fund. After graduation from the mission, children can attend secondary school and even university outside the mission. This too will be funded by the World Study Fund charity.
